Description
As a CSRD assurance supervisor, you are at the basis of the supervision of the quality of the assurance that accountancy organisations provide for sustainability reports in the context of the CSRD. You contribute to the design and implementation of the supervision. In addition to the supervision of CSRD assurance, you are also involved in the supervision of the quality of the statutory audits of financial reports. The ratio between supervision of financial and non-financial assurance is approximately 50/50.
You will analyze the quality of CSRD assurance and statutory audits and the preconditions thereof, such as behavior & culture within accountancy organizations, in a team. You will determine, in consultation with colleagues, appropriate interventions to influence the sector. In this way, you will contribute to sustainable quality assurance within the accountancy sector.
You conduct various investigations into accountancy organisations. Together with colleagues, you determine the strategy by means of data, trends and signals in the market. This can concern a thematic investigation, but also an incident investigation or an investigation into the quality of statutory audits and guarantees. During the preparation, you involve other supervisors. Available data also plays an increasingly important role; you use insights from data in identifying supervisory risks, conducting investigations and influencing market parties. Then you start the investigation, with or without different departments. This can be an on-site investigation, in which you interview accountants and coordinate matters with the board of the accountancy organisations, the assurance team and/or compliance officer(s). Together with colleagues, such as lawyers, you weigh the facts and go into depth in terms of professional expertise. You are involved in many consultations, so you are good at weighing interests against each other and influencing parties.
